Newt Gingrich vs. Mario Savio circa Dec 2, 1964 - UC Davis Pepper Spray & UC Berkley Assault

You can tell by the name, this video dives into several of the top events of the current protests. 3 weeks before Newt Gingrich started to break out of the pack in the second week of December, the 5things Film crew shot this piece based on our prediction Newt would become the lead contender for the Republican presidential nomination. Which he did. That is until the Romney money machine took him apart (again) in the Florida primary and effectively finished him off.

We nicely juxtapose Newt Gingrich with the UC Davis peper spray incident and the clubbing of peaceful students by campus police at UC Berkeley. Also, there is a nice surprise at the end.

Enjoy!

P.S. We deliberately held onto releasing this video until the moment when Newt "popped" which he officially did this past 7 days!

Are You Not Entertained?

5thingsWeWant.com is born out of a Deep Seated Frustration with the Wall Street Occupation Movement. Ahhh, but there is a twist to this video my friends. As you watch our group's video we certainly hope you wonder sometimes what side we are on. Must have been the same thing for Colbert when he first started...Actually that was exactly what he was trying to do. Shaky Egg is the Colbert for the Left. You may think I am right and you may be right...no wait turn left!!!

5thingsWeWant.com explains how the Occupation Movement can work to affect change, as a virus.  Which it is. The movement is a virus. The American Concept of Free Market Democratic Capitalism is the Dominant Hegemonic Ideology of the Day.  It will bury the protest movement unless the movement unifies and creates a cohesive message.  The movement must organize its power.  Where is this movement's Mario Salvio?  This Movement's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? It better happen soon.  Or all the blood sweat and tears will be to no avail.

Hypocrisy of the Occupy Movement-TV Crew Assaulted

So disturbing, the people supposedly representing the "99%". Those that want to challenge the ownership structure of corporations, have only created their own little "dictatorial" totalitarian cities. They claim ownership of public land, which they do not own. OK, but they then have created their own microcosm of power structures. With individuals claiming to own parts of the on-site movement. They committed what is legal assault on our camera crew. And they created their own security structure with small walky-talkies, calling for "all units" just like the police and this past weekend a young women died on-site and their "fascist police state" on Occupied Ground did nothing to prevent her death and the almost death of an overdose victim the Thursday before. I can hardly contain my rage. Good riddance Occupy Vancouver. You wasted an opportunity!!

Ideology is a Process of Meaning Making, NOT a "Thing."

Everyone talks "isms" like they are things. No they are NOT. All ideologies operate the same way. Regardless of what the "thing" is. We all need to to understand what Gramsci really meant when he coined the term "hegemony". It's a process of meaning making. You absolutely can not "un-peel the onion" to find a core of what is called "truth". There is no such thing as truth and if you un-peel you will find you are only in an isolated world. However, you will be warm, wrapped up inside a blanket of ignorance.

Press Release "Hold" in Editorial review - Phone Battle

Thursday November 10, 2011. We officially launched 5thingsWeWant.com with a global press release sponsored by PR Web. They are a great company to work with. However, like all good release services they have an editorial Department review each and every release to make sure the release is not making exaggerated claims. Working on a shoestring budget and many 48 hour days, finally was ready for release last Thursday. We were up all night and sent the release to our PR Web Account Sups in Virginia. It had to clear editorial and two hours later we got the message that the release went into Editorial Hold. This is a good one to watch!

Movement Will Die in 6 Weeks Lack of Unity & Message

The single aspect of the Occupy Wall Street movement is their sheer stubbornness to unify and present a clear message. Check this post out. I am sure it will resonate. The movement is tragically squandering the opportunity for the rest of the 98% to affect change. Tragic!

Leader Dissonance

Watch the clear DISSONANCE an Occupy Wall Street participant has when questioned about the need for a leader for the success of the movement. Will the protesters recognize they need a leader and UNITY or is there a fundamental dissonance when it comes to being led? Watch this interview and you decide. Please Post your comments. Avril Doering is a former New York ad agency brand marketer who is now back in Vancouver and seeking, through the Occupy Wall Street Movement, to do her part in balancing out the injustices of Crony Capitalism.

Ad Busters Culture Jamming - Sparked the Movement

In 1997, Shakyegg produced one of the most comprehensive pieces on Kalle Lasn and the Ad Busters movement. As you know Ad Busters and the Media Foundation is head quartered in Vancouver and are responsible for sparking the Occupy Wall Street Movement. This piece features some of Ad Busters' CLASSIC TV ANTI-ADS. I am very proud of this piece and as you can imagine it takes an in-depth look at Ad Busters, their strategy and tactics as well as providing a strong critique of the advertising industry. Its by understanding this critique, from an academic POV, that provides Shaky its core foundation principles for which all corporate client work is strategized and executed.

Watch LIVE as a Livestream Videographer is nearly assaulted - NYPD Closes Zuccotti Park

4:50am EST, November 15, 2011: just 3 hours after the NYPD broke up and evicted the Occupation Wall Street protest at Zuccotti Park. Following the mayor's office Twitter message informing all protesters must leave temporarily for safety and hygienic reasons, a Livestream videographer, who had been broadcasting live for 5 hours was nearly physically assaulted by the radical 1%. WATCH IT LIVE as it unfolds. This is yet another example of the Hypocrisy of the Occupy Wall Street Movement.

Television anchor Dylan Ratigan bravely stops by the Occupation Wall Street encampment to talk to us about his plan to separate business and state. Due to his passion he practically eats my camera, but that is the kind of passion we welcome here at Liberty Plaza.
